Kia Motors, the world’s 8th largest auto manufacturer today revealed that the pre-bookings of the Seltos will begin on 16th July online and across its 206 sales points in India. The stylish and aggressive looking Seltos would be a defining chapter in its segment and the Indian automobile industry at large and introduce India to ‘The Future of Design’. Delivering on its promise to enter the India with the highest number of customer touch points, Kia Motors India has started its innings in India with 265 touchpoints across 160 cities enabling the brand to be accessible by everyone and everywhere in India. Launch for the Seltos is set for August 22.
The Kia Seltos, upon launch will be available in two trims – GT line, which is suitable for the performance enthusiasts and Tech line, aimed at families. The Seltos will be BSVI compliant right from its launch. Under the hood, it hosts an all new and highly efficient 3rd generation Smartstream engine that will come in three variants: 1.5 Petrol, 1.5 Diesel, First in segment 1.4 Turbo Petrol, offering the perfect balance of performance and efficiency. To further enhance the driving experience, the Seltos will be offered in 3 automatic transmission options – 7DCT, IVT, and 6 AT along with 6 speed Manual Transmission, thereby giving a range of engine and gearbox options to consumers that suit their needs and driving style.
For enhanced performance, the Seltos gets 3 driving – Sports, Normal and Eco which not only alter the response from the engine but also change the steering wheel feel and weight. The vehicle also sports 3 traction modes – Mud, Snow/Wet and Sand, for a greater grip and control on all surfaces. Moreover, the stylish SUV also boasts of a drag coefficient of 0.35 CD and ensures stability and quieter drive at all speeds. As the Seltos is manufactured in India, it considers the needs of Indian users and comes with many India specific features such as; louder horn, best in class 20-80 kmph performance, faster cooling AC with Eco coating, clutch effort reduction and along with 14” rear and 16” front disc to offer enhanced braking performance.
Kia’s emphasis and history of creating some of the best automotive designs in the world has lent the Seltos a very striking exterior which gives the vehicle an aggressive, powerful, bold and wider looking stance. It boasts the signature Kia Tiger Nose Grille that gives it an aggressive look from the front, while the rear design is equally exciting which hosts a sporty spoiler and aluminum skid plates. The Seltos also gets 1st in segment sweeping LED light bar, crown jewel LED headlamps, unique heartbeat LED tail lamps & LED DRLs and ice-cube style front LED fog lamps that not only accentuates the design of the car but also do a great job in illuminating the road ahead. Giving it a confident stance are the R17 crystal cut alloys that look eye-catching. Further, in the GT-Line trim, the Seltos also gets red brake calipers and red accents on side cladding for an even distinctive appearance.
On the inside, the Seltos gets equally stylish and quality interiors, which, can be characterized as elegant, premium and hi-tech. The cockpit inspired interiors has been designed by ergonomics experts for a logically laid out dash, enabling drivers to focus more on the road. The wide and flat laid-out dash adds to a better viewing area up ahead, giving driver an expansive area for a safer drive. Other notable features the Seltos sports inside include 10.25 HD touchscreen navigation, ambient mood lighting, leatherette seats (Sports seats in GT Line), 2-step reclining rear seats, 60:40 split with adjustable rear center headrest (1st in segment), ventilated front seats, driver power seat, sporty D-Cut steering wheel, sun shade curtains, high-line tyre pressure monitor and more.
For the discerning music enthusiasts, the Seltos gets a brilliant 400-watt 8 speaker Bose premium sound system with dynamic speed compensation and sound mood lights (1st in segment and India) that offer 8 mono and 6 multi-colour themes. Controlling all the infotainment and car functions inside the car, the 10.25 HD touchscreen also gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard with embedded navigation and split screen function allowing the driver to see even more information at one glance. Accentuating on the drive further, the instrument cluster gets an advance 7.0 colour display panel which is best in segment.
On the connectivity front, the Seltos gets Kia’s advanced and proprietary UVO (Your Voice) Connect system with 37 features which will come with 3 years of free subscription for utmost ease and safety of users. The UVO advanced connect feature covers 5 categories – Navigation, Safety & Security, Vehicle Management, Remote Control and Convenience. This technology not only gives another degree to the practicality the Seltos offers but also safety.
The futuristic UVO connect system also gets Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered voice recognition service to provide Safer and smarter connected car experience. The Seltos also gets the world’s first Smart Pure Air purifier that can be controlled both via the infotainment screen and the UVO app thereby assuring a clean and pollution free cabin, for every drive. Through UVO connect, customers can also start and stop engine, AC and Air Purifier remotely through the app.

Another 1st in segment feature in the Kia Seltos, is the smart 8.0 heads up display that projects necessary information in driver’s line of site, putting driver’s attention more on the road ahead for a secure drive. The Seltos also gets the best in class 360-degree camera with 6 viewing angles, easing maneuverability in the tightest of conditions. Working in tandem with the cameras is the blind view monitor system that displays the blind spots on the advanced 7.0 colour display while turning. The cluster also displays a multitude of information like – vehicle setting, turn by turn navigation, tyre pressure, drive mode and more – pushing the envelope of convenience that the Seltos places on top.
Safety is integral and at the core of every Kia car. The Seltos offers myriad of safety features inspiring driver confidence. The vehicle boasts VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), Front and Rear Parking Sensors, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), BAS (Break Force Assist System) and HAC (Hill-start Assist Control), six airbags, ISO-Fix child seat anchor. Working in collaboration with the safety features, is the UVO connect that can automatically alert the emergency services in case of an exigency.
