After years of teasing and planning, the Fiat Argo is here and it will impress customers with its new design language and efficient power trains
FCA is betting very high on the Argo hatchback. Worldwide and in emerging markets like ours, it is replacing the ageing Punto. The hatchback has a lot of rivals and it finally also has grown in terms of technology and options it has offered with cars and we expect to see the same in the Argo as well. The Fiat also continues to be naming its hatchbacks with the letter ‘o’ in the name. The Uno, Punto and Bravo all have followed the same trend and the Argo is here to take it forward. For now, we can focus on the design and expected time lines that are on offer on where this model reaches worldwide. In India, where Fiat needs to make sure it engages with the enthusiast of its brand and deliver them the very best and treat them with the best possible package they have waited for.
Fiat Argo Design and Dimensions
The design is leaps and bounds different and is in sync with the 2017 tunes. The sharp and edgy lines and yet it has an imposing stance makes it looks just right. The length is more determined here and the front grille plays a major role on how the car looks. Massive wrap around headlights along with pronounced width of the car thanks to massive bonnet which has creases that replicate a strong focus on the muscular aspect of the car. The old curves are gone and elegant styling has very little cues left. The car is a Fiat in many ways but it will take time to grow on you as it looks different from every angle but despite that it manages to look proportionate, overall we are quite impressed with this new design, but aren’t sure hardcore Fiat fans take it.
Fiat Argo Interior and Features
Interiors aren’t revealed for now, but the car will get all black interior and will make sure it is right on ergonomics, quality and offers all the basic connectivity options, essentials and technology on offer. Reports suggest that it could get the same interiors as the Eega sedan, which is set to be the replacement for the Linea sedan worldwide.
Fiat Argo Price and Launch
Expect India launch in late 2018, but global markets should get before that as FCA wants to make sure it replaces the old Punto, Uno and Bravo worldwide with immediate effect.
Fiat Argo Engine And Specification
Internationally, we will see 1.0 litre petrol motor and 1.3 diesel motor as before. We want to see these engines to make it to the Indian market as well this time. Expect both engines to make around 100 PS of power and deliver good efficiency at the same time. 5/6-speed manual and automatic gearbox will be also in the options list.
Fiat Argo Safety Features
Expect it to clear global NCAP as always and will come multiple airbags as standard on all variants. ABS and EBD will be standard too.
