Hero MotoCorp preferred to ditch the Auto Expo 2020 and put up its show in Jaipur to launch three new motorcycles. Of all three, let’s address the Elephant in the room, the Hero Xpulse 200 Rally kit. Hero has launched the Rally kit for a premium of Rs 38,000. Now, for this handsome amount of money, you get quite a bit.
The list of deliverables includes handlebar risers, bigger footrests, larger rear sprocket, a taller seat, longer travel, adjustable suspension, Maxxis off-road tyres, extended gear lever, and a taller side stand. The complete kit has been homologated by Hero MotoCorp. It wasn’t out of the blue, that brand decided to amp-up the off-roading capability of the Xpulse.
They organised multiple Xtrack events, gathered feedback from the customers, entered local rallies, got feedback from the riders, enthusiasts and the budding racers and then formulated the kit. In no way, shape or form does the Xpulse Rally kit make the bike lose its commuter character. All the changes have been done to make an Xpulse that can take a harder beating and still stand tall. With keeping the bike usable enough, Hero has also kept the pricing accessible.
After the addition of handlebar risers and other goodies, the rider triangle surely seems to be affected, on a good note. The media motorcycles had an Akrapovic exhaust slapped on them but that’s not a part of the rally kit. One may need not buy the complete rally kit, Hero has given the liberty and you can make individual parts purchase as well.
