In order to put its roots firmly in the premium segment, Hero MotoCorp is comprehensively overhauling its product development and distribution strategies. Besides lining up the new launches such as Xpulse 210 and Xtreme 210, the company is also establishing a separate dealership network for its premium bikes.

To kick start its premium journey afresh, Hero is bringing the next-gen of Xpulse 200 in the form of Xpulse 210. The upcoming bike has been snapped testing in the mountainous terrain and will feature a more powerful engine with a 6-speed transmission for a strong cruising ability. The bike may also receive a new instrument cluster from the Karizma XMR and a larger fuel tank as the 13-litre capacity of the Xpulse 200 feels a tad smaller than desired.

As snapped on the test bike, the panels below the fuel tank of Xpulse 210 were hiding away the radiator installed for the liquid-cooled engine of the bike. Other features such as dual-purpose tires (21″ front and 18″ rear), wire-spoke wheels, off-road frame, and rally kit on the Pro version are expected to be carried forward from the Xpulse 200 4V.

The engine on the Xpulse 210 will be shared with the Karizma XMR 210 which means it will displace 210 cc with an output of 25 bhp and 21 Nm. The liquid-cooled engine boasts a 4V arrangement mounted on DOHC and features a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch feature. The chances of dual-channel ABS featuring on Xpulse 210 are 50:50 although the inclusion of 4V and DOHC is sure to help the company with fine-tuning performance of the bike.

Xtreme 210, the naked version of Karizma XMR 210, is also likely to make its debut soon in the market. The bike will share the main frame, engine, USD front forks, alloy wheels, and fuel tank with Karizma XMR among others. However, the Xtreme 210 will have beefy looks with pronounced tank shrouds, imposing headlights, a tyre hugger, and a neater tail section among others. Launch of both bikes is likely to take place next year in 2024 even as Hero is preparing to introduce larger Xpulse 440 and Xpulse 440T in the market.
