Honda XADV150 Revealed At Indonesia Motor Show Could Be India Bound As Well
The ongoing 2019 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) has become a launch platform for many interesting propositions. Take, for instance, the newly unveiled Honda ADV 150 which is grabbing all eyeballs at the show thanks to its unique and muscular design. In fact, the scooter is nothing like anything and truly one-of-its-kind in the mid-capacity 150 cc segment.
The Japanese two-wheeler maker has already got X-ADV to its credit and this new ADV 150 can be safely considered as the younger sibling to X-ADV. In terms of design language, Honda X-ADV 150 comes with muscular frontage and aggressive rear styling. The floorboard is split in design and offers a comfortable riding position. Both front and tail lamps have LED lighting elements and the black instrument cluster is fully digital.
The features like large under storage area and adjustable windshield adds to the utility of the scooter. In terms of the suspension geometry, ADV 150 comes with telescopic forks in the front while at the back; gas-filled shock absorbers have been used. Braking power to alloy wheels is provided through the petal-type disc brakes at both front and rear. A single channel ABS system is a standard part of the equipment.
Honda is yet to release the details of the engine specifications and performance figures. It is unlikely that Honda will launch ADV here as 150 cc scooter category is not very popular here in India. Even the price factor is going to be a headache for the company as this kind of adventure-oriented product will not come at an affordable price. Even if the company goes for CKD route to assemble the scooter locally here in its manufacturing facility, prices will still remain high. Therefore, the possibility of the launch of ADV 150 in the Indian market is very low.
