2016 Hyundai Creta came and conquered the market by storm. Diesel and petrol automatic new and cheaper variants are launch to make it more accessible
The Creta needs no introduction. Hyped for almost two years before launch and once launched with an attractive pricing, the market went and bought truck loads of this SUV. The design, engine, gearbox and Hyundai’s promises of reliability, easy of use, premium quality and great pricing made it irresistible to buy. Hyundai offers so much in one package and that one package is an SUV hungry market made it an instant success. Hyundai, to make sure, this trend continues for a long time, the manufacturer has introduced two new automatic options. A cheaper diesel automatic and petrol automatic finally make its début. Looks like, the public demand has been heared and these variants have been launched. Pricing list is below and we have other details as well.
2016 Hyundai Creta – Engine, Gearbox, Automatic and Mileage
Engine wise, we see three to choose from. Two gearbox options are seen on multiple variants now. The 1.6 diesel makes 126 BHP and 260 Nm of torque. The 1.4 diesel makes 90 BHP and 220 Nm of torque. 1.6 petrol makes 121 BHP and 151 Nm of torque. 1.6 diesel and 1.6 petrol are mated to smooth shifting 6-speed automatic gearbox which make the Creta famous. Mileage for the 1.6 diesel stands at 19 km/l, 1.6 petrol delivers 15 km/l and 1.4 diesel delivers 21 km/l.
Hyundai Creta Automatic Design and Dimensions
Design wise, the Creta has the boxy SUV shape all around. Front is typical Hyundai with large 3 slat grille and a bigger bumper with vertical fog lamps. Large 16-inch wheels fill the wheel wells very well. The side profile looks very Asian design indeed and window kink that ends is also the same. Rear has some funky and edgy looking tail lamps and the sheet metal and bumper is yet again large that aids in the macho SUV look that one looks for.

2016 Hyundai Creta – Chassis, suspension and Brakes
McPherson Strut With Coil Spring at the front and Coupled Torsion Beam Axle (CTBA) With Coil Spring at the rear make sure ride quality is good and so is the handling. Brakes are disc at the front and drum at the rear. There is no off-road with the Creta as there isn’t any 4×4 or AWD system offered. Monocoque chassis and light kerb weight makes it a hot favorite when it comes to performance and efficiency with car like behavior in driving.
Hyundai Creta Automatic – Interiors and Features
Dashboard has been lifted from the i20 and everything in the cabin is very friendly and from the Hyundai stable. Quality, design and finish is good all around which makes it a instant favorite. A new 8-inch touch screen with AUX, USB, Bluetooth, SD Card and much more is available. Navigation, steering mounted audio and phone controls, rear parking sensors and camera, start-stop, keyless entry, cornering lights, auto headlamps and wipers are part of the list.

Launched in the month of July 2015, the pricing has been bang on and the Creta has created a niche for itself with humungous amount of bookings and delivered 50,000 units and more till date.

ABS and EBD along with dual airbags are standard with the car but not on the base variant of petrol. Traction control, EBD come as passive safety features. Curtain airbags come on the SX (o) variant.
