Jawa Motorcycles introduced its Factory Custom program with the 42, based on the Forty-Two in 2021, and now, the program has spawned another motorcycle that aims to bring something extra to modern classic space. This is the new Jawa 42 Bobber, which is a bobber-styled motorcycle that comes right from the factory. The new 42 Bobber gets a complete redesign over the 42 and is available in three colours – Mystic Copper, Moonstone White and a dual-tone Jasper Red. Prices start from Rs. 2.06 lakh, going up to Rs. 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

2023 Jawa 42 bobber

The Jawa 42 Bobber retains all the iconic design elements of an authentic bobber and looks the part. Minimalist bodywork, chopped fenders, a low single seat and fat tyres, all of it give it a different identity over other Jawa models. The fuel tank design has been revised and gets carved knee recesses with tank pads, while there’s a new round headlamp and independent instrument console. The foot pegs are front set, while the seat pan, cushioning and upholstery have all been redesigned. Classic Legend says the rider triangle is completely different on the 42 Bobber and aimed towards comfort. The seat also gets two adjustment options – back and front. Bringing the modern touch is the all-LED lighting and new switchgear

2023 Jawa 42 bobber

The Jawa 42 Bobber is powered by the familiar 334cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor that powers the Jawa Perak as well. The engine is tuned for 30.64PS and 32.74Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Jawa says it has revised the suspension and recalibrated the brakes, in a bid to bring a sharper feel to the motorcycle. Dual-channel ABS is standard sourced from Continental.

The Jawa 42 Bobber is an interesting proposition and Jawa’s second bold attempt after the Perak. The former does undercut the Perak’s price by a few thousand which makes it India’s most accessible factory-built bobber motorcycle. It will be interesting to see how the 42 Bobber performs on the open road. We will be working on bringing a review for you soon.
