Jeep Compass bookings begin in India For Rs. 50,000 launch slated for August 2017
A all-new compact SUV, the Jeep Compass, has been finally been unveiled in the country. After being spied again and again, it is finally here. The SUV that will take the Jeep to new heights is here. FCA has high hopes with the car this time. The model is set to go worldwide in many forms. The Compass will be produced with 17 fuel-efficient and powerful power train options for consumers in more than 100 countries around the world.
The all-new Jeep Compass will offer efficient power trains, premium design and feel. Combining that with on-road driving dynamics, technology on offer on the inside and Jeep heritage claims the new SUV. Jeep says its has invested 280 million dollars on the Compass.
The new Jeep Compass features an all new approach when it comes to the interior. There is use of premium materials and that begins with a mix of gloss black, chrome and matte silver trim to give it a premium look to the cabin. There is an 8.4 inch UConnect touchscreen system, configurable TFT screen within the instrument cluster itself. More modern standard feature list includes keyless entry with start/stop button. Entertainment can be witnessed with ‘Beats’ 9-speaker audio system with subwoofer.
Engine set for India will include all new 2.0 litre diesel engines made by Fiat, which will come with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG. The 1.4 Multi Air engine will also make it to the SUV. Petrol makes 160 BHP and 250 Nm of torque. The diesel will make 170 BHP and 350 Nm of torque.
Jeep Compass has 50 active & passive safety features on offer with this vehicle. List includes the usual ABS, EBD, Traction Control, 6-airbags. There will be EPB, Hill Start, cornering lights, electric parking brake (replacing the handbrake) and much more on offer as well.
4×4 system will make it to the car as well on the top of the line variants as well. It has an feature call DDT which will cut power when not needed. The Brazil price start from Rs. 15-18 lakhs and end at Rs. 25 lakhs. Jeep will go against the XUV 500, Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V in India. Nissan and other manufacturer are all set to enter this segment as well. Will Compass go everywhere or stay there, price is what really matters, like never before.
