KTM 790 Adventure India Launch is now set for 2021 calendar year. Exact dates aren’t available as homologation and other processes have just begun

KTM’s plan to get 790 Duke in India was executed last year and it has been sold off. It is the bike that has been eagerly awaited along with the 390 Adventure that is going to make its debut here 2021. In fact, the bigger KTM 790 Adventure was been revealed at 2020 India Bike Week. KTM will launch 790 Adventure in India in 2021. KTM Duke 790 Adventure India Launch could be limited to just one variant also. Just so you know, globally 790 Adventure is available in three different variants – standard, Adventure R, and R Rally.

It will be a giant leap for KTM in the adventure space where Triumph has a bigger market share along with Ducati which has minor share as well. It is now confirmed to us via many sources, that KTM Adventure 790 will come as a CKD to keep cost in check and gain a competitive edge. We are expecting 790 Adventure to come at a sub-Rs. 11 lakh price. The 790 Adventure will be powered by a BS6 799 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine which is capable of putting out 94 bhp and 88 Nm of max power and max torque respectively. The bike is underpinned by Trellis frame and features minimum bodywork which is quite opposite to other adventure bikes. Duke 790 isn’t coming back with BS6 engine, sources confirm with us.

KTM 790 Adventure India specific bike will have a global suspension setup. We will have to see which variants we end up getting. Indian version won’t skip on anything like the 390 Adventure. The suspension is different in case of standard and R version of the 790 Adventure. The standard variant of the bike has 200 mm of front and rear suspension travel while in case of the R version, suspension travel is 240 mm on both front and rear.

Similarly, the wheelbase of the R version is 2630 mm which is 30 mm more than what standard variant features. In terms of similarity, both variants get 21-inch and 18-inch front and rear wheel respectively while the braking power is delivered by 320 mm twin-disc setup at the front and 260 mm single disc setup at the rear. In terms of equipment, the 790 Adventure comes with cornering ABS, rally mode, and traction control system besides having the feature of optional cruise control.
