Jaguar Land Rover Automotive PLC is the holding company of Jaguar Land Rover Limited, a British multinational automotive company with its headquarters situated at Whitely, Coventry, United Kingdom, and a subsidiary of Indian automaker Tata Motors. Jaguar Land Rover India’s Managing Director and President Mr.Rohit Suri had confirmed plans to launch ten new products this year in April, after which the Jaguar XE diesel was launched in May. He has also reported that the company will launch the 2017 Land Rover Discovery India Launch for festive season and today, the bookings are open.
The 2017 Land Rover Discovery is the fifth manifestation of the nameplate. It is internationally available in four grades: S,SE, HSE and HSE Luxury. The mind-blowing features of the all-new Discovery are Adaptive LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, 22-inch wheels, 5- inch driver information display inside the instrument cluster,three-zone automatic climate control system, configurable ambient lighting, heated and cooled seats along with massage function for the driver and front passenger’s seats, 10-inch touchscreen inControl Touch Pro infotainment system and a 17-speaker Meridian audio system.’
This is the third major redesign in the mid-size SUV’s life-cycle, and the appearance is more squashy and luxurious than the previous model which unlike this had a utilitarian design. It comes in magnificent colors like Fuji White, Corris Grey Metallic, Santorini Black Metallic, Montalcino Red Metallic, Aintree Green Metallic, Narvik Black and Namib Orange.
Land Rover Discovery India lineup has one petrol and one diesel engine on options for now. The Land Rover Discovery is going to be sold in India with 3.0-litre Td6 V6 diesel engine and 3.0-litre Si6 V6 petrol engine. The 3.0-litre Td6 V6 engine is tuned for 258 PS and 600 Nm of torque. The 3.0-litre Si6 V6 engine puts out 340 PS and 450 Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard, and so is a four-wheel drive system, with a single-speed transfer box or a twin-speed transfer box depending on the engine model and equipment grade selected.
