Benelli Tornado 150 is been in talks for some time as this new patent images makes things clear. DSK in India could enjoy volumes with it
Benelli worldwide seems to be focusing on one thing, volumes. Here in India it now has a strong base thanks DSK partnership which has made sure their bikes roll of the lines quickly and find more homes. All of this start with superbikes and then middle weights and now there are quarter litre in two forms. Twin-cylinders and single cylinders. Even those bikes have two forms. Naked and faired. This time, Benelli aims to get lower and offer a 150cc bike. This time focus is also more keen on hitting the Japanese rivals. The bike in question will fight established rivals from Japan and this 150cc high-tech bike is work in progress. Let’s see what we can expect from this.
Benelli Tornado 150 Design and Dimensions
Expect the design language and everything to be very similar to the Tornado 302 that we have seen recently at the Auto Expo and launch is set to happen in 2016 as well. Benelli will use the design and offer unique proposition to its customers. One piece large headlight, sharper fairing, smaller dimensions and hardware will make it look purposeful. A smaller tail section will make sure that the 150cc has its own distinction.
Benelli Tornado 150 Price and Launch
Launch will happen in late 2017 and prices will be around 1.10-1.20 Lakhs ex-showroom.
Benelli Tornado 150 Chassis, suspension and brakes
We can expect the same truss frame as seen on its rival. We don’t expect a steel pressed (perimeter) frame here. What we can expect is front forks will be Upside down one’s and monoshock will continue to be a part of it. Fat 130/140 section tyres at the rear and 110 section at the front can come in. Brake will be petal discs both at the front and rear will be on par with segment when it comes size of calipers and diameter of the disc.
Benelli Tornado 150 And Specification
We expect the motorcycle to churn out 18-20 BHP of power and 15-17 Nm of torque. This single cylinder motor will be dervied from the TNT 25 that is on sale. We will most likely see liquid-cooling, fuel-injection, 4-valves per cylinder and much more when it comes to engine technology. Engine will come with a 6-speed gearbox.
Benelli Tornado 150 Safety and Features
ABS should be standard with this motorcycle as it coming post 2017. Features will include new cluster with a lot of information on board to help riders and set of warning lights as well.
