2016 Mahindra Scorpio Intelli-Hybrid makes a surprising entry and will now benefit from government schemes for hybrids vehicles
Mahindra is on an aggressive streak of making sure they are not affected by the wrong diesel sentiment that is roaming around in the market. The brand is making sure that the diesel continues to deliver great efficiency, emission and mileage that it delivers over the petrol variants. Engine wise, we see the 2.2 litre engine instead of the 1.99 litre engine made for the Delhi ban, The system quite familiar to the Maruti system that has been on Ciaz and Ertiga. There is an alternator which charges a new large battery pack and also sends some amount of power to the engine in certain driving conditions when it has enough power to lend the engine. Overall, Intelli-Hybrid reduces fuel consumption by using Motor Assist, Electronic Start Stop and Brake Energy Regeneration.

Scorpio continues with the same ladder on frame chassis and has revised chassis, suspension and brakes as before. The body control is better, ride quality is supple and has less unnerving ride and handling package like before. Disc brakes can be seen on all around and the suspension is retuned with double wishbone at the front and multi-link suspension at the rear with anti-roll bar to make sure body control is in check
