Mahindra SsangYong Tivoli will take on the likes of highly established rivals in the category as this the last segment for Mahindra to enter
Mahindra four-wheeler counterpart is known for only one thing and that are SUV’s. The cars came and went did not work. Every other SUV and MPV however, seems to be working for them very well indeed. Right from KUV100 to XUV 500, every SUV has a decent amount of sales number every month and which translates into heavy profits on YoY basis. To keep the momentum, steady, they launched and refreshed every vehicle thoroughly and still there is one last segment left.
Sure, it has ruled it with the Scoprio but with the base variants only. However, it is time that it starts even lower than the Scorpio and above the TUV 300 to give consumers exactly what they want. This is where the Mahindra SsangYong Tivoli steps in and brings the Korean brand closer to the eyes of the public. What will it have when it comes to India, we tell you!
Mahindra SsangYong Tivoli Engine And Gearbox
The Tivoli has engines and gearboxes jointly developed by team SsangYong and Mahindra and they will share it for the first time in the Tivoli. The 1.6 diesel and petrol engines made, will début in the Tivoli. The petrol makes 130 BHP and diesel engine will make around 115 BHP of power. Torque is the highlight of both engines so the weight of the car can be lugged easily. The engines will mated to 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes. Expect efficiency and a performance level to be better than the competition.

Monocoque construction will be seen on the Tivoli and it will be the highlight of the vehicle. The chassis will save weight and help gain in every other way when it comes practicality and efficiency in every way. Four wheel drive option is most likely not to be considered for India and will happen only after public demand or a year or two. A basic suspension setup of McPherson at front and Torsion Beam springs at the rear.
Mahindra SsangYong Tivoli Design and Dimensions
When it comes tot he Design, the vehicle does have a very interesting front and rear profile which have distinctive and futuristic vehicles. The headlights are protruding and have LED and projectors in them. The rear tail lamps are curvy and so is the sheet metal which has a lot of creases. The side profile is quite a resemblance to the Creta in some angles, not all. Dimensions wise it will be around the 4.4 meter, which puts it straight against its rivals.
