2019 Mahindra TUV 300 Facelift will have a revised interior and continue to have the stellar 1.5 3-cylinder diesel engine
Mahindra is readying TUV3OO facelift for Indian market launch next year. The model was recently spotted testing and revealed some of the crucial details about its exteriors and interiors. It is clear from the images that the facelift version will get a host of cosmetic and feature upgrades.
On the outside, the facelift TUV3OO will feature newly designed alloy wheels and a new X-shaped spare wheel mounted on the boot. The lighting package will be upgraded with LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) – a move aim to enhance the premium quotient of the car. Inside the cabin, the changes will include the addition of a new touchscreen infotainment system.
Facelift model will also receive strengthened structural elements to comply with India’s new crash test safety norms which are coming into force from October 2019. The engine and transmission options are likely to be carried over. This means a 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder diesel engine with 100 bhp and 240 Nm mated to either a 5-speed manual or AMT will continue to do duty in the upcoming version.
With the facelift version, Mahindra is aiming to lure the compact SUV buyers who are also looking for an extra dose of ruggedness in their vehicle. We also expect the 9-seat TUV3OO Plus to receive the same kind of structural upgrade to comply with the crash norms.
We do not expect significant changes in the price for the facelift version although minor revision in the retail price can’t be ruled out. On its arrival, facelift Mahindra TUV3OO will take on the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, and Hyundai Creta among others. In this fiscal year, Mahindra will launch two new products in the market which are still known by their code names–the S201 compact SUV and the flagship Y400 SUV.
