Maruti Suzuki has started selling Ciaz through Nexa outlet from 1 April 2017 as it wants to make experience more premium for its buyers
Maruti Suzuki’s popular sedan Ciaz just got more premium as the model will now be sold through its superior chain of dealerships Nexa from April 1 2017. Earlier Ciaz was been sold through regular Maruti dealerships. However, now you can book and buy one from Nexa outlets. Nexa has 250 outlets overall and covers 90-95% of the recording sales of the mid size sedan. Ciaz being the latest addition to the Nexa group the premium outlet now carries 5 models-the S-Cross, Baleno, Baleno RS and the Ignis.
Ciaz has emerged as the market leader in the premium mid-size sedan segment within about two and half years of its launch in October 2014. Maruti Suzuki has sold 150,000 units in domestic market and a total number of 64,000 units were sold in the FY17. It has been stated that Maruti discontinued the “v” variant of the Ciaz which didn’t offer airbags and ABS, and the model was sold in only four variants, VXi(O), VXi+, ZXi and ZXi+. However, now at Nexa the variants have been renamed to Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Ciaz also succeeded in overtaking and beating the sales of the very famous mid size sedan the Honda city.
The addition of the Ciaz to the Nexa portfolio will certainly step up the image of the brand. As we all know the mid size sedan has been doing quite well in the market and carries a very simple yet elegant design with good body shape, flow lines and spacious interiors. Maruti is shifting the Ciaz to Nexa without any major changes. A brand new blue paint scheme has been added and the black exterior colour has been discontinued.
The Ciaz is powered by the same 1.4 litre petrol engine churning out 92 PS of power, and is also available in a 1.3 litre diesel 90 PS diesel engine which is offered with SHVS technology. The sedan is mated with a 5- speed manual transmission for both petrol and diesel variants, where as the petrol is also available with a four speed automatic gearbox. As the competition continues to extremely fierce in this segment from the upcoming Verna, new Honda City, Volkswagen Vento and Revised Skoda Rapid.
