Maruti Suzuki Super Carry India Engine, Gearbox and Mileage
Super Carry is powered by the new 793 cc light weight, 2-cylinder diesel engine. Engine ends up producing a peak power of 36 PS @ 3500 RPM and max torque of 75 NM @ 2000 RPM. Super Carry should offer very good load carrying capacity and pick up with these numbers. The engine comes mated with the 5-speed manual transmission. Fuel efficiency of Super Carry is rated at 22.07 Km per litre and has a top speed of 80 Km/hr.

The ladder on frame chassis continues with the Super Carry. There isn’t any 4×4 option and suspension is leaf springs on both ends. Disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear do their job.

The driver’s cabin is spacious enough and comes with ergonomically designed features like flat and extended co-passenger seat with thick glass fibre heat shield for better heat insulation and NVH. The well positioned gear lever, ergonomically placed pedals etc should make things easier for the driver.
Features list includes, mobile charging socket, dual assist grip, odometer, trip meter, fuel meter, and digital clock, besides provision for a stereo. There is also option for integrated rain guard, readily openable sliding back window glass, and conveniently located spare wheel tyre position for ease when it comes to replacement.

Sadly, there isn’t any car like safety features to boast off. To keep the pricing well it however gets advanced passive safety features such as front disc brake and Load Sensing Proportioning Valve (LSPV) braking system. Bigger and wider wind screen, ORVMs (driver & co-driver), additional rear reflectors, headlamp leveller. Robustly packed electrical parts enhance the safety of the occupant, says Maruti. High tensile materials have been used and the body has been galvanised to provide better rust resistance.
