New Honda Platform To Underscore BSVI Compliant Two-Wheelers to make sure it stays profitable in the future
Honda has adopted an altogether different approach to take on the challenge of BS-VI emission norms coming into effect from April 1, 2020. Not only is the company going to make a comprehensive change in the engine department, but it also plan to revamp product platforms comprehensively in the future. This essentially means that rather focusing only to achieve compliance, the company has a broader vision to strengthen its portfolio in the light of new regulations wit this New Honda Platform To Underscore BSVI Compliant Two-Wheelers.
Of course, to implement this makeover plan, the company needs to invest a good amount of money in upgrading the existing production facilities along with renewing the equipment and tooling used in manufacturing. The company will keep on studying the demand and accordingly plan various parameters related to its production. There is no clear cut information about when the BS-VI complaint Honda products will roll into the market although word has it that Honda will match the release date with the upcoming festive season of 2019.
Another important aspect of switching over to cleaner technology is upgradation of service centers across the country which is quite a big challenge to implement. Every company has to give sufficient time to its dealers in order to cope up with the technology changes and have to train service personnel while installing the new machines and equipment for successfully carrying out the service operations. Like other industry players, Honda is expecting a good chunk of sales in the last quarter of FY 2019-20 but the company is maintaining guarded enthusiasm by taking into account the contingency of excess supply and low demand situation.
For quite some time now, Honda is battling the competition as its best selling Activa scooter has registered a negative growth of 4% in the financial year just gone by. Experts believe that high prices of Activa are hurting its fortunes although the company is confident to bring the customers back as it prepares to launch new generation Activa in the Indian market. The launch date is not certain for now but is expected to arrive in showrooms early next year.
