Next Generation 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is due to arrive soon and spy shots of the flagship sedan have made its way on the internet. The 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be step up over the current model and the spy shots reveal the exterior design in detail complete with the sleeker profile, curved front with a more fluidic design language for the grille, headlamps and the bumper, a lot of which has also been seen on the E-Class facelift. At the same time, the new car will maintain is opulence in a bolder yet elegant appearance.
Next Generation 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class spy shots also provide a good look at the rear that features horizontal split taillights that are very reminiscent of the CLS Coupe. A chrome strip in between connects the LED units, while the bumper gets dual chrome-tipped exhausts. There’s a nice curvature for the licence plate indentation that allows a more distinctive appeal on the car.

The new model is visibly tech-laden with a pop-up digital instrument console, and a massive touchscreen infotainment system. The car also gets a flat-bottom steering and rear entertainment screens, along with a minimalist design language inside.
The AC vents are compact at the centre, but the ones at the sides are tall. What makes all of these elements interesting is the fact that they’ve shown up previously on the Mercedes Vision EQS concept that previews a flagship electric sedan in the company’s stable. Also expect to see more legroom at the rear, new massaging features for the seats with the reclining function and a central armrest with all the controls.
Next Generation 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is expected to be offered with the 3.0-litre petrol and 2.9-litre diesel engines, while the AMG versions will get the 4.0-litre V8 under the hood. The mammoth V12 could be given the boot though. That being said, the new S-Class will come with a plug-in hybrid and an all-electric sedan with the latter to be sold as the EQS.
Next Generation 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be make its global debut in September this year while the India launch is expected only by next year. The S-Class is locally assembled in India and it is likely that the new generation model will also roll out of the Chakan plant. The Mercedes flagship will take on the BMW 7 Series and the Audi A8 L in the segment, and will also have the Maybach, AMG and possibly EQ versions too making its way to the country.
