Okinawa E-Scooters Ridge Launched in India at a price tag of Rs. 43,700 Ex-Showroom, Delhi

The market segment consisting of commuting solutions that use electric power is rapidly expanding in the country. The latest entrant in the segment is Okinawa Autotech Pvt. Ltd. This electric two-wheeler manufacturer has just launched its Okinawa Scooters Ridge E-Scooter in India at an Ex-showroom, Delhi price of Rs. 43,700. The company started its operations in Indian back in 2015 and the just launch e-scooter is the first model offering in our market.  The E-Scooter is called Okinawa Ridge and talking of the looks of it, it does look a lot more mature than most of the other offerings in the segment.

During the launch, Jeetender Sharma, MD Okinawa Scooters had said, “Being an Indian company, our vision is to be a leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer by offering a solution to the daily commuting needs of the average person. Showing its serious intent of making it big here, the company has promised an investment of around $40 Million by 2020 and expand its operations across the country. At present Okinawa Scooters is operating through a network of 24 dealerships which is set to go up to 450 over the next three years. Okinawa Scooters has a manufacturing facility in Bhiwadi, with a capacity to produce 90,000 units a year with a single shift daily working format.

By 2020 Okinawa Scooters expects to bring 3 electric scooters every year. With the Ridge, Okinawa Scooters have achieved around 65-70 per cent localization in the manufacturing. The company also has plans to introduce E-Motorcycles as well if their initial foray goes well in India.

Okinawa E-Scooters Chassis, Suspension and Brakes:

The Ridge comes fitted with alloy wheels, tubeless tyres and drum brakes. Up front it gets telescopic suspension.

Okinawa E-Scooters Engine And Specification:

The scooter gets an 800 watt electric motor, which can propel it to a maximum speed of 55kmph and allow a range of 80-90km

Okinawa E-Scooters Features:

The Okinawa Ridge gets a fully digital speedometer and can carry a load of up to 150kg.
