Race Concept Dominar 400 Makes 5 More Horsepower and Torque with just tuning four things. Makes it quite an interesting proposition
Race Concepts, an outfit based out of Bangalore that has modified various cars and bikes till date has now taken the kitchen knife to tune the Bajaj Dominar for more power and torque. The modified Dominar 400 is now claiming to be India’s most powerful Dominar. The motorcycle is claimed to be making 20 % more power and torque than the stock version. On the road, it should be a much faster accelerating machine thanks to the focus already on low and mid range torque. The acceleration should be significantly higher with a decent bump in top-speed.

Changes to the motorcycle are in every area. The modified Dominar gets a tuned engine head, a remapped ECU, a free flow exhaust and a free flow air filter. These modification push up the wheel horsepower (HP measured at the wheel) to 33 Bhp from 27 BHP. Transmission losses as always are to blame. Torque goes up to 32 Nm, again from about 27 Nm on the stock version as well.
At the crank, the numbers are eye watering. The modified Dominar 400 should thrust out 40 Bhp of peak power and 40 Nm of peak torque, a decent bump from the stock version’s 35 Bhp-35 Nm that is on offer. With these changes, the modified motorcycle becomes India’s most powerful Dominar for now. These specs are now very close to KTM Duke 390 where the engine comes from. The torque has gone up but the BHP is still away from the 45 BHP that the Donor has.
