Royal Enfield Classic 500 ABS With Rear Disc and Euro 4 Engines should come by April 2017 in India to meet new government laws
Royal Enfield is slowly but surely trying to upgrade its product line to make them acceptable in the global market. After showcasing the Himalayan with ABS and the next Continental GT surely spied with the same, now the company’s Classic 500 and the Bullet 500 models have been showcased with the safety apparatus. The bikes which were showcased in UK were also Euro 4 compliant while having rear disc brakes as well.

As for the Indian launch of these new upgrades on Royal Enfield’s, expect them to arrive soon since the BS4 emission would need these upgrades to be standard from April 2017. We reckon addition of a rear disc brake and ABS on the RE products would improve the archaic braking of the current models and make RE bikes a bit safer as well. We do not expect any major changes in the power outputs or engine characteristics on the new bikes when they arrive here though. Also, expect a hefty price hike on the already (bit too) expensive product line of the Chennai based automaker.
