Renault India has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first car manufacturer to take its entire product lineup to Umling La Top, the highest motorable road in world. The much-anticipated experiential drive across the breathtaking landscapes of Leh, Ladakh, was flagged off on 29th August 2024.
The drive, spanning over 1,000 kilometres across the challenging terrains of the Ladakh region, showcased Renault India’s versatile range of vehicles, including the Renault Kiger, Kwid, and Triber. This journey exemplified the durability, performance, and adaptability of Renault’s vehicles in some of the most demanding driving conditions in the world.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO & Managing Director, Renault India Operations, expressed his enthusiasm on the drive stating, ” We are extremely proud to be the first OEM to bring our entire product range to Umling La pass, showcasing the true spirit of adventure that defines Renault. Commencing from the city of Leh, the drive navigated through iconic destinations such as Chang La pass, Pangong Tso, Hanle, and finally, Umling La pass. Participants were treated to breathtaking views of the region’s natural beauty. The journey also included a stop at Hanle, offering a rare opportunity to engage in stargazing in one of the clearest skies on Earth, adding to the overall magical experience.
The Kwid is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen Media NAV system on the RXL(O) variant, making it the most affordable hatchback with such a feature in the industry.
