Royal Enfield has officially announced the launch of Guerrilla 450, scheduled for July 17 outside India. The announcement was made by Siddhartha Lal, CEO of the company, and Govindarajan Balakrishnan, CEO of the company. The new model is expected to share many components with the Himalayan but appears to be mainly tuned for on-road use and light trails.
Guerrilla 450 can come equipped with basic equipment compared to its ADV counterpart Himalayan 450, making it cheaper. The first spy photos have revealed many of the bike’s styling and features and provided an overview of what enthusiasts can expect. The Guerrilla 450 is expected to be equipped with a single head lamp, LED DRL, large fuel tank and single seat. Although the exact shape of the console is unconfirmed, it could be similar to the TFT display on the Himalayan.
The tail section and tail of the Guerrilla 450 bear similarities to that of the Himalayan 450, showing off the design. Unlike the Himalayan wheels and tubes, the Guerrilla 450 has alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. Moreover, it replaces the USD metal found in the Himalayas and the telescope. The Guerrilla 450 will use the same Sherpa 450 engine that powers the Himalayan. However, the engine compatibility of the Guerrilla 450 has not been confirmed yet.
In the Himalayan, the 452cc single-cylinder engine produces 40 PS and 40 Nm of torque and is mated to the six-speed transmission. More details about Guerrilla 450 are expected to emerge as the launch date approaches. With a blend of classic and new features, the Guerrilla 450 will be a unique addition to the Royal Enfield lineup yet again. However, will this match up to the spectacularly well done Triumphs and the improved Classic legend motorcycles? We will find out soon.
