Extremely Credible sources from Bajaj tell us that the V brand is meant for commuter motorcycles and not for high-powered ones such as Bajaj V200 and V400
Bajaj hit the nail hard with the V commuter brand. The Pune based manufacturer is known for making motorcycles that stand out. Products are high on performance and in every single segment till date. The four valve Discover range, the highly efficient Platina and CT 100 range or the powerful, sporty-commuters Pulsar’s, all these motorcycles have shown what Bajaj focuses on. The focus has been on performance along with efficiency along with value for money being at its peak. A last trick in the box, which brings the customer to the showrooms. However, some time it has worked and sometimes it hasn’t. Bajaj may have un-snatchable share in the sports motorcycle segment, but it never actually penetrated the commuter market as hard as Hero or Honda with their motorcycles and scooters did respectively.
However, the V brand has taken things to a level of what Bajaj was expecting when it comes to emotional aspect. Numbers were unexpected and are till date as the demand sores. With the V though they have made sure it succeeds as commuter brand. A commuter brand, which is clearly invincible. Sorry for using the marketing term, but yes, we have ridden the V15 and it is a gem in the segment. Rock solid stability, low and mid range torque making sure it feels like a cruiser and hence amplifying more on the marketing term. Along with all of this comes unique features such as bigger headlamp bulb, the seat cowl that is removable and many more unique mechanical bits.

Now a senior Bajaj Spokesperson who wants to stay anonymous confirms with us that the V15 and the number attached to the V will go lower not higher. The spokesperson confirms with us that the market is spawning rumors on its own as there are no plans to do so at Bajaj. V will be a commuter brand and will continue to be so. We asked him what’s happening with the most spied motorcycle in the market today too, which is the VS400. Spokesperson confirms that are a lot of secrets out before time. However, it still cannot be launched before first week of November.
We all know that the VS400 delayed news came a week back, but the launch date is now an Exclusive that we have with us for all of you. Reason of the delay for the VS400? Bajaj wants to focus on the demand that is set to come in the large festive season that starts from the September and ends in November. Coming back to the original Scoop! V15 is set to go down the range and this will help Bajaj gain share in the commuter market, which has been its weakness. A 125 perhaps at the price of 110? That would be vice versa when you factor in the V15 case. This could start a whole new segment yet again, something that happened with the V15.
