The Jawa 300cc single cylinder has been a long point of discussion because of a particular aspect, the dual-sided exhaust, which comes from M2W days. Finally, those days will be behind it as well as the single sided exhaust has been spied testing for the very first time. If you look closely, the other side of the exhaust isn’t visible either, over the wheel. There is a strong possibility of a centralized under belly exhaust as well on 2025 Jawa 42. The Jawa 42 FJ very specifically is seen here with a split grab rail, seat and the other elements associated with the motorcycle that was launched just last year itself.
Jawa did tell us that they are constantly working on hardware and mechanicals of its motorcycle, primarily to up quality and reliability. This move could make much better as the kerb weight should go down by a good margin. This will help de-stress the motor and the vehicle. Also, the dynamics of the motorcycle could change by a subtle margin. This is finally being done because there no major changes expected to come from regulatory bodies, which helps the brand keep emissions in check easily with a dual exhaust. There is another big aspect, cost.
The Jawa 42 is said to be a major revamp when it comes to quality, character, and reliability. A big change like this following a year or two years post launch cannot go so well with the existing customers. We are confident they will instantly choose the much better after market exhaust option route once this model goes on sale as history suggests. A reminder that this is powered by a heavily revised engine that displaces 334cc making 28.7 PS and 29 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
