Skoda as a manufacturer worldwide is known for offering superior practicality, design and comfortable cars in all shapes and sizes. However, the SUV market was the only one which was left without Skoda and a Skoda badged car. The brand has always offered everything and hence it finally steps into the full-sized SUV market. After much hype, teasing for almost two years and more it is finally unveiled in Berlin. The name is Kodiaq for the SUV and it is named after the Alaskan bear who lives in the mountains, something the car challenges to take on to. SSkoda Kodiaq India Specific Engine, Gearbox and Mileage
The engine for India will the be similar 2.0 litre unit found in Volkswagen and Audi cars of the past. Fact is that the same engine has been in the Skoda Superb and Octavia as well. However, tune here will be the 2.0l unit that makes almost 190 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to an 7-speed DSG gearbox, which is now rated at 600 Nm to withstand all the torque.

The Kodiaq has to be the rare SUV of today’s time that looks just right. Sharp and sleep yet large and intimidating. Expect on-road and off-road capabilities at the same time with the Kodiaq.

Interiors with every other Skoda are made really well. High quality materials, soft touch dashboard, fully electric and heated ORVM’s, automatic climate control, connectivity options, touch screen unit, Apple Car Play and Android Auto will come with the SUV. Launch is slated to happen just around Diwali 2017 or could be early 2018. Prices should start around the Rs 30 lakh mark.
