Skoda Auto India has launched the Slavia 1.5 TSI priced from Rs. 16.19 lakh for the manual version, going up to Rs. 17.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for the automatic version. The Slavia 1.5 arrives in only the top-spec Style variant with all the bells and whistles. It’s also become the most powerful offering in its class when compared to the Honda City and the Hyundai Verna. Skoda has priced the 1.5 variants at a premium over the competition, and the model also plugs the gap between the Slavia 1.0 TSI and the Octavia which is a whole Rs. 10 lakh more expensive in comparison.
The Skoda Slavia gets the 1.5-litre TSI four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that’s tuned for 150PS and 250Nm of peak torque. 0-100kmph comes up in 8.8 seconds, while transmission choices include the 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic. The Slavia 1.5 TSI also gets a segment-first cylinder deactivation technology that shuts down two cylinders under light load for increased fuel efficiency. The sedan returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.72kmpl on the manual and 18.41kmpl on the DSG.
There are no additional features or cosmetic upgrades on the Slavia 1.5 TSI. So you do get all everything from the ventilated seats, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected tech, rear AC vents, ambient lighting, cruise control, LED headlamps with DRLs, fog lights, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and more.
