2020 SsangYong Tivoli Facelift has been spotted testing in India. Just so you know the Tivoli has the same platform which spawned Mahindra’s XUV 3OO compact SUV in the Indian market. SsangYong is preparing for Tivoli’s mid-life facelift as the SUV has been long in the tooth as far as its presence in the European market is concerned. The model spotted testing featured a left-hand drive which means it will continue to focus on the foreign markets as its primary target area.
In terms of changes, both front and rear fascia of Tivoli has undergone cosmetic alterations. Upfront, the 2020 SsangYong Tivoli Facelift has received redesigned grille, revised bumper, new headlamp clusters, and circular fog lamps. In fact, the new design of the Tivoli is in-line with the Korando which has just made its debut at the Geneva Auto Show last month. Despite the fact that Tivoli is not going to be sold in India, the regional research centre of the Mahindra is actively involved in the development of the future facelifts/models with special the focus on developing next generation power trains.
2020 SsangYong Tivoli Facelift is expected to make use of the 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine from the XUV 3OO and will ditch its existing 1.6-liter petrol motor. Under the hood of XUV 3OO, this engine produces 110 bhp along with 200Nm of max torque although we expect, the motor will be tuned to produce more output in Tivoli.
2020 SsangYong Tivoli Facelift is expected to make its global debut this year as it has been under the testing phase for around a year now. SsangYong is also expected to refresh long-version XLV after the launch of the new Tivoli. Upon its arrival, new Ssangyong Tivoli will be up against the likes of Jeep Renegade, Mazda CX-3, Suzuki Vitara, and Nissan Juke coming others.
