Indian market might witness the reintroduction of the Fiat brand as Stellantis is seriously evaluating the prospects of bringing the iconic brand back to our shores. The third largest automaker by volume has already intensified its efforts to establish Jeep and Citroen brands in India and it might also introduce the Alfa Romeo brand to Indian buyers going forward. Just so you know, the launch of the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV is scheduled for October which will be followed by another product launch early next year.

Globally, the Fiat brand is managed by Stellantis after the former was acquired by the latter in 2021. While in India Fiat stopped selling cars owing to high competition, globally the brand is getting a good response with an increase of 10% YoY sales in H1 2023. Take, for instance, the electric Fiat 500 which is bringing a lot of customers to the brand’s kitty. The hatchback is the best-selling A-class vehicle with a strong fan following in Japan and now will be introduced in the Australian market.

For now, Stellantis is focusing on the launch of the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV that will take place in a couple of months from now. The midsize SUV will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Suzuki Grand Vitara among others. The prices will be announced in the month of September and the delivery will commence from October onwards. The sale of midsize SUVs in India is expected to reach 612,000 units by the end of 2030 and with Aircross, Citroen wants to have a share in the pie. Although Citroen Aircross has entered late in the fray the company is confident that the SUV will make its mark owing to its sophisticated styling, high creature comfort, and class-leading features among others.
