Two-wheeler maker Suzuki has emerged as a brand to reckon with in the Indian bike segment. It has got some commendable offerings in its stable such a Gixxer, Gixxer SF, and a Cruiser and now the Japanese company has set its eyes on the adventure segment. According to the reports, Suzuki believes that there is considerable potential in the adventure segment and it wants to leverage it with its new ADV offering. V-Strom With Gixxer 250cc Engine Could Be Coming in the Indian market!
Suzuki is contemplating to utilize its single-cylinder platform displacing 250 cc to spawn its new ADV bike. However, in line with the nature of the segment, we expect some comprehensive change in the suspension system and frame of the motorcycle.
The gear ratios might go under revision as well. Suzuki’s V-Storm will act as a design inspiration for the upcoming ADV. The new bike will share styling similarities with V-Storm 250 albeit it would be lighter in weight. Suzuki will design the motorcycle for the Indian market but global sensitivities will also be taken into account as the company has plans to export this motorcycle to other markets too.
It is still very early to talk about the launch of new ADV bike and given the fact that the bike is in the initial stages of the development, we don’t expect it to make to Indian market before 2022. The design and development of the bike will take place in Japan and have inputs from the company’s team in India. It will be interesting to witness how the Indian market finally responds to the concept of ADV bikes. Our market has evolved and matured over the years with many new concepts and segments making their way into mainstream categories; however, as far as ADVs are concerned we are still to witness this particular niche to get traction among riders.
