Tata has launched two new variants of the Harrier. The XMA and XMAS variants now get a panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto, 8 speaker sound system, rain-sensing wipers, electric ORVM and a reverse parking camera. All these features were earlier seen in XT+, XTA+, XZ+, XZA+, XZS, and XZAS variants. The Tata Harrier XM variant costs, RS. 16.09 lakhs, XMS costs RS. 17.20 lakhs, XMA costs RS. 17.39 lakhs, XMAS costs Rs. 18.50 lakhs. There are over 30 variants to choose from now including manual and automatic variants. There is very little idea where Tata is heading with these options.
There are many options to choose from and the mid variants are getting revised with more features time and again too. These seem temporary moves to make sure they offer good value to the customer without raising their budget to the top. As the limited edition variants with more features are 3-4 lakhs expensive. Harrier just got Jet Edition with the electronic parking brake, all-wheel disc brakes and other features raising the price to almost RS 22 lakhs ex-showroom. All this does create confusion for some customers looking forward to fitting in a certain budget meanwhile making it easier for people who are choosing the top-end variants without a second thought. The move seems in good faith for most reasons.
Gold Edition is not listed on the website anymore. However, Kaziranga, Dark, and Jet editions are visible. Tata is offering the same engine with a manual and automatic gearbox. The 2.0 FCA-sourced motor makes 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque. The Harrier continues to be our top choice in this class of suvs with amazing design, solid driving dynamics, and unmatched feel.
