The New Generation Suzuki Swift has arrived in Hybrid form to be showcased at the Auto Expo stall that is set to happen in Feb 2018.
The 2018 Suzuki Swift Hybrid has been spotted for the very first time on Indian soil and that too without camouflage. Visually, the car is identical to the Hybrid SL variant sold in Japan and features a ‘Hybrid’ badge on its boot lid and might be here for testing along with blue accent on the AT gear shift lever which confirms of being it a Hybrid. Maruti Suzuki is expected to debut the new Swift in India at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo.
However, we cannot deny the probability of Maruti Suzuki launching this model in India very soon. The car is updated cosmetically as well as gets an all new interior. Swift fans out there we can already behold that smile on your faces, still a lot more to come brace yourselves. According to the images, the 2018 Swift gets projector headlamps with LED DRLs, Hexagonal grille and fog lamps at the front. It gets LED tail lamps and a spoiler at the rear which enhances the sport look of the hatch.
The Swift also gets the new floating roof design with Black A and B pillar and new alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the swift gets three spoke steering wheel, steering mounted control and touch screen infotainment system compatible with Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
Also the spied version of the Suzuki Swift comes with an automatic transmission. The new gen Swift is based on Baleno’s lightweight HEARTECT platform which helps in shedding some weight and makes it more rigid and stronger when compared to the current outgoing model. The India destined, 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be powered by the 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.3-litre DDis engine The diesel unit might also come with Maruti Suzuki’s Mild-hybrid technology, SHVS.
However there are no as such confirmed reports on the new SHVS Swift making its way to India. In addition, the company might introduce the Swift with a 1.0 -litre booster jet engine as the one in Baleno. Transmission options will include the 5-speed manual and automatic units. Its is expected to make its debut in India at the Auto Expo Scheduled to start February 9,2018 and will price between INR. 5.00-9.00 lakh range.
