Toyota in India is making extreme efforts to make sure they succeed in the market where volumes exist. However, it has been ‘Fortunate’ enough to get volumes in the premium segment with the MPV, SUV and D-segment saloons. It always wanted market share in a category where its rivals such as Honda and Suzuki are strong. Hatchback and sedans were made but they failed and ended up in the fleet market. However, with the Vios everything is set to change. Toyota has plans to bring to the market this time after teasing many times. Vios is a premium approach towards the segment and just could start the segment for Toyota. Vios is available in international markets.
Toyota Vios India – Engine, Gearbox, Automatic and Mileage
The Vios sedan will be offered with three engine options. A 1.5-litre petrol, diesel and petrol hybrid. The petrol mill produces 108 PS and 141 Nm of torque. Vios is capable to achieving 0-100 km/hr in 12 seconds. Top speed ranges around 170 km/hr. Diesel will be the same 1.4 unit which should make 90-100 PS of power. The petrol hybrid model can make it and might come coupled to an electric motor helping in producing more power over the normal petrol engine. Petrol only engine will come with a manual while the Hybrid will come with a 5-Speed CVT.

The design is one the most key selling points for the company. The Vios looks fresh and bold and yet very premium on the outside. Large body panels, sleek headlamps, and tail-lamps along with a smart grille makes a good first impression. Dimensions are similar to its rivals.

Toyota Vios India – Interiors and Features
Interior is where Vios wants to woo you even more. Flowing lines, smart dashboard, a modern looking steering wheel and panels crafted to look futuristic make their way to the cabin. Expect good level of quality and beige and black interior for the production model. Touchscreen infotainment system, Leather upholstery, Start-stop button, Automatic climate control and connectivity options can be expected. Other sets of features include Theft Deterrent system, Eco meter, Push start system, Smart entry system and an Engine Immobilizer are on offer.

Launch could happen in late 2018 and pricing could start around Rs. 8 lakhs and end at Rs. 12 Lakhs ex-showroom
