TVS 150cc Maxi Scooter will go straight up against Suzuki Burgman and Aprilia SR150
It has been reported that TVS Motors is currently developing a new maxi-scooter which will most likely be powered with a 150cc engine. In the Indian market, the launch of this new 150cc maxi scooter is expected to be take place before the end of 2019.
This upcoming maxi scooter will be based on TVS Motor’s, ENtorq 210 Concept model which was showcased at the Indian Auto Expo which was held in 2014. According to the media speculations and the concept model which was showcased, a render image of this maxi scooter has been previewed. When launched, this new maxi scooter will be TVS Motor’s new flagship scooter.
If we compare the ENtorq 210 Concept model with the upcoming maxi scooter, the later will miss out on USD Fork and it will instead feature a conventional telescopic fork. In terms of the aesthetics and design, it is rumoured that the upcoming flagship maxi scooter will feature relaxed ergonomic in comparison with the sporty design of the Ntorq 125.
But the foot position of the new maxi scooter will get a flexible foot-forward position. In addition to this, this vehicle will also come equipped with remote keyless entry and a smartphone docking station. Many of the components like the switchgear, bar-end mirrors, instrument cluster, etc will be sourced from the Ntorq 125. Just like the Ntorq125, the new 150cc maxi scooter also feature the all-digital instrument console which also supports the Smart Connect System.
TVS Motors India will most likely power this maxi scooter with an all new 150cc single cylinder, air cooled, fuel injected petrol motor. And this mill will be matted with an CVT unit. It is expected that this 150cc engine will be capable of churning out class leading power figures in the Indian market. Along with this, TVS Motors will also offer this maxi scooter with a single channel ABS unit as well.
TVS Motors will be equipping this upcoming maxi scooter with premium quality parts and it is expected that the Indian manufacturer will retail this product at Rs 80,000 in the Indian market. In addition to this, TVS will also launch this maxi scooter in the global market where it is steadily increasing its presence.
