The country’s largest luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz today launched the much-awaited super sports car – the AMG GT Black Series, the most powerful AMG ever. The new AMG GT Black Series highlights Mercedes-Benz’s rich tradition in motorsports, as well as its expertise in consistent technology transfer from motorsport to series production cars.
Over the years, the Black Series models have built a reputation as the most exclusive automotive rarities that can do significant lap-times on a racetrack and are approved for roads. The newest edition to the Black Series family features the most powerful V8 engine of all time and the most expressive design, the most intelligent material mix, the most sophisticated aerodynamics, and the most distinctive driving dynamics.
The AMG GT Black Series has a V8 engine with a flat crankshaft that develops 537 kW (730 hp) at 6700- 6900 rpm and delivers a peak torque of 800Nm available at 2000-6000 rpm. The V8 lends the car a completely independent character and enables a particularly impressive performance: the two-door vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and 0 to 200 km/h in under 9 seconds with a top speed of 325 km/h.

Flat plane designed V8 engine along with flat crankshafts:
• In comparison to all the V8 engines used in the previous AMGs, the GT Black Series comes with ‘flat crankshaft’ variant of the V8 engine that allows superb smoothness and high torque at low rotational speeds
• Moreover, the use of ‘flat crankshaft’ in the ‘flat plane’ V8 engine creates uniformly oscillating gas columns that provide enhanced engine performance
Modified AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G transmission
• Power transmitted to the rear wheels via the seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G dual-clutch transmission
• Modified for use in the AMG GT Black Series and adapted to the increased torque of 800 Nm
• The Race Start function is also now even more impressive, thanks to the increased starting revs, the more sensitive wheel slip control and the sports tyres fit for the racetrack
Stay completely under control: AMG Traction Control
• The AMG TRACTION CONTROL enables the driver to get individual support for controlling the immense power of the Black Series
• The level of support can be fine-tuned, providing the ideal level of assistance for each driver and each track situation
• The AMG TRACTION CONTROL has been tailored to meet the requirements of the new Black Series and allows preselection of one of nine slip settings on the live rear axle
