Volkswagen had recently revealed the Tera SUV in Brazil. Today, it has kicked off production of the Tera sub-compact SUV at its plant in Brazil. This model, which is headed to India, shares its foundation with the newly launched Skoda Kylaq, utilizing the MQB-A0-IN platform.

When it comes to design, the Tera SUV showcases a sleek single-slat grille, stylish sweptback headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, and a prominent air dam. The blacked-out A and B-pillars, roof rails, black alloy wheels, and wraparound LED tail lights contribute to its modern look. Additionally, it features a dual-tone rear bumper, faux skid plates, and an integrated spoiler complete with a high-mounted stop lamp.

Under the hood, the Tera destined for India will house a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, delivering 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. It will be available with both a six-speed manual transmission and a torque converter automatic option. SAVIPL has taken a dual approach towards the sub four meter SUV segment. The Skoda Kylaq will target all rivals, but the Terra will rival the Maruti Fronx, Toyota UC Taisor and upcoming Hyundai rival in this category. The Terra will have many rivals in the coming years and it will be first few to rule a legitimate crossover segment instead of an four meter SUV segment.
