Not a hint information revealed to the digital press nationwide, the HDX440 is set for launch with pictures being out on the company’s social media handles. The Harley-Davidson (HD) X 440 information is purely based on what is available outside. The bike will be made in India in collaboration with Hero MotoCorp and the official launch is related to take place on the 3rd of July.
X 440 Roadster features a 440cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that will offer fairly good performance with 40Nm at its disposal. The chain drive will also be unique to this HD as it is only the second bike in the company’s lineup to feature this arrangement for a power-transferring mechanism. The bike is underpinned by a steel tubular frame with USD front forks and a twin shock rear suspension system as a standard part of the equipment. The single disc is offered at both front and rear ends and to offer stability during the braking process, Dual-Channel ABS is also on the duty. MRF tyres with retro tread will make it to the production version and grace the 18-inch and 17-inch wheels at the front and rear respectively.
Harley Davidson HDX440 to come with a commanding position, neutral ergonomics, flat handlebar, and butch stance. The aesthetic appeal of the bike is enhanced further by its round LED headlamp with a sDRL bar running across. The indicators are also round in shape and come with some cool touches and neat detailing. Fit and finish are likely to be in question and the single-pod instrument cluster will offer a fully-digital display with the possible inclusion of the Bluetooth feature.
Harley Davidson HDX440 is likely to be priced in the band of Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom). At this expected price point, it will slot slightly above the RE classic 350 (priced between Rs 1.9 lakh and Rs 2.2 lakh) though lower than the upcoming range of Bajaj Triumph motorcycles with liquid-cooled engines that will be launched in the market right after the introduction of HD X 440.
